MyZen.Blog Yu Gardens and Jade Buddha
There are a lot of cats all over Shanghai. Domestic cats treated well while street ones not.
Yu Garden or Yuyuan Garden is near the God Temple in the northeast of the Old City of Shanghai at Huangpu Qu, Shanghai Shi. It was built around the Ming Dynasty, more than 400 years ago. It includes the Yuyuan Tourist Mart, the Huxinting Teahouse and the Yu Garden Bazaar. Lots of Hawkers that will follow you for blocks so be firm in your no. You can barter re prices. Start with offering a third of the price and stick to it.
The train station isn’t far. Don’t get suckered into tour buses. You need time to look around. There is a small entry fee for this and the Jade Buddha. You will need to make sure re closing times. I went here a few times. Great market for tourist trinkets, silk, pearls and there is a gold market. My hair never looked good in China.
