I Just read a heartfelt happy birthday from my friend in Italy to his girlfriend, how balconies were not made for quarantine, how seeing her eyes first in the morning gave him strength..but how fear and uncertainty was still there.
It is easy to forget the people who are there, to appreciate our friends, loved ones or family. If nothing, we know now, more than ever, that we should say thanks for the privilege of others in our life. Another friend told me about his mother in an Aged Care Facility and it was hard to video chat. I suggested he go there and make signs so she could see him through windows and to simply say he loved her. He agreed.
Don’t leave it too late. If you have something to say, say it. If you want to do something, do it. No guts, no glory. Above all, if someone matters, appreciate them and tell them they matter or they are loved.
